Our faculty and staff are culturally diverse and their uniqueness and specialties enhance our children’s learning experiences. Our program is privileged to have a pedagogical team that consists of:
Our School Director is in charge of orchestrating the dynamics and administration of the whole community (students, parents, teachers and staff). She manages all aspects of the school including collections, budgeting, marketing and communications, education, professional development and maintaining the school environment. The Director actively develops and maintains positive staff and parent relationships including managing all resources effectively. The Director establishes and maintains open, honest and respectful working relationships with state licensing authorities. She oversees and ensures consistent implementation of the Curriculum and programming for all students enrolled at Ivy League Academy. She consistently implements a “Continual Training Plan” to prepare and support teaching staff. She prepares challenging staff meetings and is always asking and searching for new ideas to better serve our children and families.
Our Assistant Director, who is always available for parents, teachers and children, answers operational questions all day every day. She prepares teachers schedules, handles procurement of materials and supplies needed. She keeps records updated, tours new families and follows up potential student enrollment. She helps with special events and has lots of fun visiting each classroom every morning and afternoon to review how everybody is doing while talking and playing with little ones.
Our coaches work as an “ateliers” and a “pedagogical” guiding teachers and children while developing specific projects and assisting them with teacher-child interaction, arrangement of toys and furniture in the classroom, academic aspects of the curriculum and documentation.
Our Toddler and PreK Educational Coordinators are degreed and experienced in Early Childhood Education. They share teaching strategies, assist teachers with the implementation and understanding of the goals and standards needed to prepare and execute the curriculum. They model effective early childhood practices, offer teachers suggestions for improvement and suggest instructional materials for teachers to use. They also hold a lead teacher position.
Our “Ivy League Academy” lead teachers are dedicated professionals with the training, skills and enthusiasm needed in order to create engaging learning center environments, including age appropriate activities that encourage a variety of experiences for children to enjoy and develop a love of learning. Our lead teachers maintain a Child Development Associate (CDA) and are CPR and First Aid certified. Our teachers meet regularly with our Director, coaches and educational coordinators for in-service training and sharing sessions. Our teachers are consistently observing and documenting children’s skill level in order to meet developmental milestones. Based upon this information, they prepare their weekly lesson plans.
Our staff are certified by the Florida Department of Children and Families by completing 40 hours of required training and have also acquired 5 hours of training in Early Literacy. They are actively involved in continuing education courses on an ongoing basis.
